Recommended AI Tools for Searchers
- **Clay:** A hands-on, sales-oriented platform that filters a massive prebuilt company database with granular enrichments to craft targeted outreach lists. Filter lists of 40M businesses + decision makers at those businesses, enrich them, and qualify them all in one place. Very hands on, small learning curve. Likely better for lead gen / GTM, but could be used to find business owners.
- **Linkt:** An AI research agent that discovers contacts from scratch across the web, justifying each pick with evidence instead of filtering a static database. fully done-for-you prospecting, research, qualification and enrichment. Use for hiring, deal sourcing, lead gen, etc. Built lists for different industries / ICPs, run them weekly or monthly, watch specific companies for selling signals, and much more.
- **Gumloop:** Build and run automations without code. This is an all-in-one automation tool I use to build most AI-enabled automations, and is much easier to use than N8N or Make.com. Some workflow examples:
- Identifies sales calls on my calendar, researches the prospect, and emails me a 60-second brief, 5 minutes before the meeting
- Captures leads in my lead magnet, qualifies them, drafts casual outreach related to their business, and sends me a slack message when draft is ready
- **Granola:** Best AI note taker, bar none. Turn it on to record phone calls, meetings, webinars, etc without an AI joining the meeting. Note quality is superior and you can "chat" with the call transcript + folders of calls to remember specific points, identify patterns, "red team" diligence, draft follow ups, etc. My favorite, and maybe the most powerful AI tool I've used.
- **Howie:** An AI personal assistant that actually works. Comprehensive email scheduling, with unlimited preferences (ie. "always give me a 30 minute buffer before and after X meeting type" or "when I schedule an in-person meeting, make it default to 45 min at Y location". Only on google workspace right now.
- **WisprFlow:** Best voice-to-text on the market. Typing is slow. Speaking isn't. Speak your notes, emails, documents, and AI prompts into existence. I find this most useful for brain dumping complex situations or large prompts to ChatGPT, Granola, Claude Code or Cursor.
- **Phantom Buster:** Scrape linkedin, twitter, instagram and google to identify prospects, and automate linkedin actions (profile views, adds, etc).
- **Happenstance:** Research individuals based on a name + company. I use this for reports / summaries of people I meet in passing at conferences, etc.
- **Loom:** Quick video recording + editing. Remove um's, uh's, and silences with a click. Adjust words by editing them in the transcript. Use to send personalized videos, quickly
- **Attio:** AI-native CRM, highly customizable, captures and enriches contacts and businesses automatically, based on your email. Built-in AI, automation, email sequences, and lead enrichment.
- **Cursor / Claude Code:** Built for coding, but great at research, task management any many other tasks. Spin up research agents, manage to do's, and act on them all in one place. Use background agents for specialized research while you're on a walk, or doing other things
